As Australia’s leading crisis support and suicide prevention service, Lifeline exists to ensure that no person in Australia has to face their darkest moments alone. In their experience, Lifeline has found that it is through connection that we can find hope. Lifeline is available 24 hours a day to listen, without judgement, to any person in Australia who is feeling overwhelmed, experiencing crisis or longs to be heard.
National Storage first supported Lifeline in The Push-Up Challenge in 2021, which led to a three-year partnership commitment in September 2021. This partnership demonstrates National Storage’s long-time support of mental health initiatives.
With National Storage supporting Lifeline’s vision of an Australia free of suicide, the partnership is committed to raising funds for critical support services, which help the most vulnerable in our communities. The collaboration will provide resources to support the wellbeing of National Storage and Lifeline audiences, spreading our safety net to include more people experiencing emotional distress and facing personal challenges.
Lifeline’s workplace and community training programs will enable National Storage and their key staff to be aware and trained to recognise, respond and refer to their audiences when in need, thus building resilience within the community and workplace. This partnership will maximise engagement and bring positive value to stakeholders of National Storage business and partners, to support brand recognition and thought leadership in mental health and suicide prevention.

World Suicide Prevention Day
On World Suicide Prevention Day on the 10th of September 2021, we pledged to donate $1 for every flower planted in Lifeline’s Virtual Garden, up to the value of $50,000.
Lifeline’s Virtual Garden is open 24 hours, anytime, anywhere. A garden of remembrance, a garden of reflection. Here you can plant a flower, hold a personal silence, smile or shed a tear knowing you are amongst friends.
On this day, we came together united to remember lives lost to suicide and to grow hope. We were proud to partner with Lifeline for this initiative to help shine a light on suicide prevention.

The Push-Up Challenge
In June 2021, we took part in The Push-Up Challenge supporting Lifeline Australia and all of the incredible work they do in order to #PushForBetter mental health.
Our head office team set out to complete 3,318 push ups as a representation of the number of lives lost to suicide in 2019 in Australia.
